Ankush-Oindrila marriage not happening now
Ankush is right now busy shooting for PB Chaki’s family drama ‘Love Marriage’. The film also stars her real life girlfriend Oindrila Sen, Ranjit Mallick and Aparajit Adhya in key roles. This film will be Ankush-Oindrila’s second one as a pair after Raja Chanda’s ‘Magic’. Meanwhile, while work commitment is keeping both of them busy now their long-pending marriage seems to have taken a back seat yet again. Ankush, at the beginning of the year said that he would get married to Oindrila this year. “Oindrila and I would have been married by now if the pandemic hadn’t happened. But now we are not thinking of marriage as a lot of work is lined up,” he said.
‘Tonic’ music a hit ahead of film’s release
Not only the hype surrounding the film but the much-awaited ‘Tonic’ has created quite a lot of buzz for its vibrant music as well. The family drama directed by Avijit Sen starring Paran Bandyopadhyay, Dev and Shakuntala Barua in the lead, is already the talk of the town. Ace Music Director Jeet Gannguli has again created magic through some mellifluous numbers. The Title track ‘O Tonic’ is already creating ripples on Social Media. Sung and written by Anindya Chatterjee, this song is like a breath of fresh air. The song ‘Aaynate’, written by Prasen and sung by Anupam Roy, is also quite lilting. Shreya Ghoshal and Nachiketa Chakroborty have sung two versions of the song ‘E Mon Eka’ soulfully, penned by Srijato. The music of ‘Tonic’ is so relieving that it leaves a lasting impression on your mind. ‘Tonic’ will release on December 24.
Anik Datta wraps his Satyajit Ray tribute film ‘Aparajito’
It’s finally wrap up for Anik Datta’s much-talked-about period drama ‘Aparajito’ inspired by Satyajit Ray’s ‘Pather Panchali’. The film, also a tribute to Ray, sees popular TV actor Jeetu Kamal playing the auteur and the shooting has been an emotional roller coaster ride for him. Incidentally, ‘Aparajito’ was the second film of the Apu trilogy but this new ‘Aparajito’ is different. Speaking about the film, Anik had earlier said that he was not just looking to give an account of how ‘Pather Panchali’ was made. In his film the character Aparajito Ray, aka Apu, is making a film titled ‘Pather Podaboli’. What he wants to convey is that if one has the confidence that he has the ability to achieve his dreams he can make those dreams come true, in reality. So, it is an inspirational film. Jeetu’s look as Satyajit Ray has already surprised all and the director feels the talented actor has done complete justice to the character.
‘Mandaar’ actor Debashish Mondal to star opposite Nusrat Jahan
Shieladitya Moulik’s ‘Mastermoshai Apni Kichu Dekhenni’ is finally all set to roll as the second male lead has been confirmed. We already know it’s a love triangle with a political background. While Nusrat Jahan and Yash Dasgupta are playing the leads, it’s Debashish Mondal who will be seen opposite Nusrat Jahan. Debashish recently gave a stellar performance in Anirban Bhattacharya directed ‘Mandar’. Apart from these three, veteran actor Sumanta Mukhopadhyay will be seen as the elderly mastermoshai.
In the film mastermoshai witnesses the murder of his favourite student who was killed by someone who is not only a student of the teacher but also the boyfriend of his own daughter. Debashish will play the student who gets killed. Through this killing, the audience will see the student politics scenario of West Bengal taking a roller coaster ride. While Yash will play Shibasish, Nusrat will be seen as Nilanjana.
Ray’s ‘Joy Baba Felunath’ lauded in Saudi film fest
The Red Sea International Film Festival, the first one after a 35-year-long ban on cinemas ended in Saudi Arabia, turned out to be a starry affair. And the screening of Satyajit Ray’s iconic film ‘Joy Baba Felunath’ (The Elephant God) on his birth centenary year made it even more special. Ray’s film was physically screened on December 13 and received an overwhelming response. ‘Joy Baba Felunath’ is the second film on Feluda, set in the holy city of Benares, where he (along with his cousin, Topshe and friend, Lalmohan Ganguly) goes for a holiday. But the theft of a priceless deity of Lord Ganesh from a local household forces him to start investigation.
